Trump Plans to Stop Chinese Airlines from Flying Over Russia on US Flights

The U.S. government is planning to ban Chinese airlines from flying over Russia on flights to and from the United States. Right now, Chinese airlines save time and fuel using this route, which U.S. airlines are not allowed to use since 2022.

The U.S. Department of Transportation has given Chinese airlines two days to respond, and the new rule could start as early as November. This move comes after China tightened controls on rare earth exports, which are important for U.S. industries.

U.S. airlines say that flying directly to China without Russian airspace is longer, costlier, and less efficient, making it harder to compete.

Impact:
The ban might make Chinese flights slower and more expensive. U.S. airlines could gain an advantage, but longer flight routes may also create challenges in serving passengers efficiently.
