German Consumer Confidence Drops in November as Income Hopes Fallv

People in Germany are feeling less confident about their finances in November. The latest GfK survey showed that consumer sentiment fell to -24.1 points, down from -22.5 in October.

The main reason for this drop is that income expectations went down sharply, falling by about 13 points to 2.3, the lowest level since March 2025. Rising food and energy prices and worries about job security are making people more careful with their money.

There were a few small improvements too. Economic expectations increased slightly by 2.2 points to 0.8, and willingness to buy improved a bit to -9.3 points. Overall, German households are spending less because they are unsure about their future income and facing higher costs for daily needs.
