USA Ends Trade Talks with Canada After ‘Fake Reagan Ad’ Accusation!
Donald Trump has announced that the U.S. is stopping all trade negotiations with Canada. He says the row started after Canada allegedly used a “fraudulent” ad featuring Ronald Reagan criticizing tariffs. The ad, he claims, was made to interfere with U.S. court decisions and cost around $75,000.
The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute has said the ad used selective audio and visuals of Reagan’s 1987 address on free and fair trade. They are now reviewing possible legal action.
Trump emphasized that tariffs are important for U.S. national security and announced that, because of the “egregious behavior”, the trade talks are terminated.
Impact:
Trade relations between the U.S. and Canada could possibly get tougher, and markets might assume some extra uncertainty in North American trade flows.
