Trump Attacks NBC & ABC, Says Their Licenses Should Be Cancelled

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has once again attacked big media networks. This time, he targeted NBC and ABC, calling them “fake news” and blaming them for showing him in a bad way. Trump said that during his time in office, almost “97% of stories” about him were negative.

Trump also said that these networks should lose their broadcast licenses. He asked the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to take action, saying that NBC and ABC use public airwaves but do not pay the proper license fees. According to him, they should pay millions of dollars if they want to keep their licenses.

Trump has been fighting with media companies for years. Recently, he ended legal battles with CBS and ABC. CBS paid $16 million, and ABC paid $15 million to settle lawsuits over false reports. These cases have only made Trump more aggressive toward big media houses.

Now, by asking the FCC to cancel licenses, Trump is putting more pressure on the networks. But experts say it may not be possible. Taking away a license is a very complicated process, and it is not clear if Trump or the FCC can actually make it happen.

Still, his comments are creating a big debate in the U.S. Some people agree with Trump and believe the media is unfair. Others say his actions could harm press freedom, which is an important part of democracy.

Impact:
Trump’s remarks could increase fights between politics and media. The FCC might face pressure, but strong legal rules could stop any license cancellations.
